In our research group, we develop and leverage fundamental understanding of relationships between material properties and performance, and leverage that understanding to develop separation processes for a circular water economy. Our research approach integrates materials synthesis, characterization, and process analysis for applications in sustainable water treatment, resource recovery, and environmental remediation. You can read more about our ongoing research projects and recent publications here.

The McGaughey group is led by Dr. Allyson McGaughey, Assistant Professor in the Gerald May Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and the Center for Water and the Environment at the University of New Mexico.
